Race 1

This is a process of elimination selection as none of these trotters is very enticing as a play. (1) IRON DOME & (1A) BELLA BEE BABY provides a nice two-for-one from trainer Patti Harmon. The former shows a mile on 10/22 at Philly that would blow these away while the latter owns the second fastest career mile. (3) LOTHARIO broke last time but his prior effort was fine; can rebound. (4) REGAL HILL switches to the big track and is eligible to show more.

Race 2

(3) QUICK DEAL raced evenly in his first start for this barn versus a tougher group. If he behaves this will be an easy victory. (6) CLIFTON BEACH raced well in this class two starts back. (1) WHATNBLAZES is another dropper who should be hustled away from the cones. (4) TEASIN N PLEASIN did OK in her first start on Lasix; more now?

Race 3

(1) JADED DREAM gets class relief and a switch to the Ron Burke barn. When on her game she is the best in here and I’m expecting improvement. (6) UNBEAMLIEVEABLE has an amazing 33 wins in 65 career starts. Trainer Vincent Fusco jr thought enough of her that he claimed her back recently. (3) SGT MOLLY PITCHER has early speed and form.

Race 4

(4) REAL DJ HANOVER gets a driver switch to Andy Miller and logically should be hustled to the front in this spot. (5) STARDUST MEMORIES comes off an improved effort and should be very comfortable at this level. (7) MICHAEL’S WILD BOY is fast off the gate and figures to last for a big piece.

Race 5

(4) FOX VALLEY CADET gets a barn and driver change tonight while facing a very soft group. Five-year-old should pick up his game a bit. (5) SOUTHERN SPORT finds himself in for a tag for a driver/trainer that really hasn’t done a bad job; capable with a trip. (6) ONE EYED ALLEY CAT has been racing well at Plainridge. Can that form transfer to the big track? (2) MAY I CRUISE WEST also comes in from Plainridge and has some form.

Race 6

(6) CITY PIE hasn’t done much since the claim but does get a key driver change and has won here in the past. (9) INTRIGUED INTENDED just missed versus a better group last time and probably ranks as the favorite in here. (8) TERROR OF THE NITE & (4) WORKANDPLAYHARD have been getting pieces versus similar company in Pennsylvania but they are a combined 1-65 this year in the win column.

Race 7

(2) MONTALBANO BI can’t be faulted for his sixth-place finish in that qualifier where he was facing pacers. That effort should have him plenty tight and I see a prime opportunity to get in on him at a price. (6) P L ICABOD was part of a quick pace and raced well versus a better foe in Master Of Law. He should prove tough if he behaves. (5) GOLD MEDAL SWAN actually finished ahead of #6 by a narrow margin last time with a big post edge; trip threat here. (3) LANDONFITZ won his last start with a catch-driver but I’m more interested in the top if he drops next week. (8) LAUDERDALE has the class to win but there is plenty of speed to his inside.

Race 8

(2) ALL IT TAKES couldn’t get his act in gear north of the border but did qualify well for his debut in the Burke barn. In a non-descript field, I’ll roll the dice on the trainer change angle. (6) HIGH OCTANE N gets class and post relief. This is the type of spot where I’d expect a solid effort from the veteran. (3) ROLL N CATCH hasn’t been bad in his last two starts; needs a better trip.

Race 9

(8) MCACE OF ARTS has a bit of a class edge on this field. Her form hasn’t been great but I’m hoping the switch to this surface, where she set a career best 1:49 2/5 mark earlier this year, will move her up. (3) FIRE N DIAMONDS ships in with plenty of form. (2) PURITY is more than capable of winning if she is sound. She is worth a look in the post parade and warm-ups. (7) BETTOR CHILL OUT closed well from a tough spot last out.

Race 10

(1) QUALITY BUD improved with Lasix added last time and should have every advantage in a field without much early speed starting from the inside. (4) CARDIAC FASHION is another horse moving into the Burke barn that is eligible to improve. (10) BAGGAGE CLAIM has no form but seems to be in a softer spot than those $15K claimers at Pocono.

Race 11

(6) KOTARE YAEL N fired off the gate and just missed while facing slightly better last week; obvious contender. (10) IDEAL MATTERS has been dropping in search of a winning spot. For new trainer Ron Burke, he may have found it if the post doesn’t do him in. (9) SWORD OF THE SPIRIT comes off a nice speed try; dangerous again. (2) TOTALLY DREAMY could save ground and shake free for a nice piece.
