The wet weather couldn’t dampen the mood at the Meadowlands this Friday night. On the racetrack the story was driver Dave Miller, who won 5 of 11 races on the card, including two divisions of The Clyde Hirt Series. Miller has now won eight races in the last two nights.
In the Clyde Hirt, a pair of favorites put on a show. One Through Ten, one of Dave Miller’s five wins, and Holdingallthecards are on a collision course in the Final as both scored impressive victories. One Through Ten held off a game Ethan Hanover in a quick 1:52 2/5 mile on a track rated sloppy, while Holdingallthecards dominated his division in a sharp 1:52.
In other Clyde Hirt action, Bestjetyet scored in the first division for Meadowlands newcomer Eric Carlson in 1:52 4/5, while Shaws Creek Bluff fended off Mr Dennis in 1:54 in the final division.
The wagering dollars came pouring through the windows at an even stronger rate than the falling rain. The total handle for the eleven race Friday card was $2,862,831. That total marked a staggering 30% increase from the same Friday in 2012.

SCAT PATTY can lead gate to wire at a short price if she reproduces her most recent start. She ran well all three starts since claimed by Vladimir Cerin, including a runner-up finish last out at a six-furlong distance slightly out of reach. She finished more than four lengths clear of third, returns at the same class level ($25k claiming, N2L), and shortens to five and a half furlongs. On paper, she is long gone. METAXA will keep the top choice company while dropping in class from maiden-40 starter. CASSANDRA LYNNE has regressed since her winning debut, but drops to a new low.
