Celestial Legend extended her unbeaten streak to three Friday night with a 3 1/2-length victory in the $50,000 Holly Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at The Meadowlands Racetrack.

Ridden by Chris DeCarlo, Celestial Legend ($3.40) dueled for the early lead before dropping back slightly. She launched another bid in the lane that carried her to an easy win over Wild and Proud, with Primary Motive third. Celestial Legend ran the six furlongs on the fast track in 1:09.52.

Trained by Dale Capuano, Celestial Legend won her maiden at first asking at Delaware Park and followed with a 13-length allowance at Laurel.

"Dale told me to break and go to the lead, but I looked at the Daily Racing Form and saw there was a lot of speed so I decided to break in mid-pack," said DeCarlo. "She is still a little green. In the stretch she was looking around at the lights. When I asked her, she really just opened up. She's a really nice filly."
