CHAMPIONSHIP MEET STATS: 166-52-29-19 / $279.10 (-$52.90) BEST BETS: 12-5-3-0 / $27.00 (+$3.00) SPOT PLAYS: 11-2-1-4 / $8.60 (-$13.40) BEST BET: BRONSONS DELIGHT (14th) SPOT PLAY: NANDOLO N (9th) Race 1: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - Pick 5 (9) FERDINAND A came to life last week with a good second-place finish after a string of dull miles. This looks like a spot where he can go right down the road. (4) BIG BAD BILL passed horses from the back last time but was able to win in his prior amateur start; contender. (10) ROCKY J is an interesting newcomer despite a winless record in 19 starts. It’s somewhat difficult to decipher how he will perform on this track and in the new barn. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Trackmaster 68 (NW L2 70.63) or less (3) RAPTORS FLIGHT N is a horse I’ve been following for a few weeks waiting for him to awaken but it hasn’t happened. Tonight he visits the basement Trackmaster condition and it’s now or never. (6) MY WISH CAME TRUE doesn’t win all that often but he does hit the ticket often enough to use. In a field without much early speed on paper, he’s a definite include. (2) WARRAWEE XCEED was second in this company last week. If he can sit close and get a clear path, I could see him getting a nice piece. Race 3: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - Survivor 7 (7) STORM THE COURT has been stuck on the far outside of the gate in his last few starts and hasn’t been able to get the right trip. Tonight he lands in a field loaded with early speed types and might be able to capitalize. (5) BET ON BUTER arrives for a barn that has done well here this year. Five-year-old has form and big speed. (2) SUNSHINE’S FINEST lands a cozy inside post and if the trip works out he’s another that could benefit from a hot pace. Race 4: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2 73) or less/NW $348 p.s. in 2025 with 14+ starts (7) STREAKIN PETE had absolutely no chance from post 10 in his debut for this barn. Now he gets a better starting slot and a class drop like a few others in here. I’m going to take the price and roll the dice. (2) OUR CORELLI N has raced pretty well in this class and it is always nice to have the leading driver at the lines. (4) MANSERTIVE swallowed up the field impressively last time. Can he do it again? (6) SPIRIT OF TRUTH is as sharp as any in here. (9) STONE COLD SAVAGE drops and adds Stratton; useable. Race 5: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace (2) WHAMMER JAMMER moves to the inside of the gate and that is a huge help to a horse without much early speed. Hopefully he lines up on cover but he’s also capable of taking air. (7) LOU ON THE BEACH got a nice setup and posted a career best in his third start for this barn. You have to respect him here, though I wouldn’t want a short price. (6) GOOD ROCKIN comes off an abysmal looking line but I wouldn’t be surprised if he perks back up now that he’s in the amateur ranks again, though the driver is just 3 for 89 in his career. (4) HYPEBEAST gets a better posts to work with tonight and could step up with a decent trip. Race 6: Trackmaster 80.5 (NW L2 82.5) or less/Not better than 5th in TM 83.5 - $50K GTD Pick 4 (6) ARMYCAPTIN HANOVER comes with the uncertainty of having missed over a month, but we are getting an interesting trainer change here on a horse with some back class. (9) TOREADOR GB has early speed and form. How will that translate on the big track? (2) BIBLE THUMPER scored at huge odds last time at Philly. That 1:49 3/5 line at The Red Mile last year makes you think this isn’t the tallest task in the world. (4) SAULSBROOK HERO has a win and two seconds in his last four starts in this class, though this field came up tough tonight. Race 7: Non-winners $7,500 (NW L2 $8,250) in last 5/TM 83.20 or less (2) CAPTAIN CRUSADER A dropped to this class last time and the pace simply wasn’t fast enough for him to get there in the stretch. He moves inside this time and might push away hard to gain prime position. (7) IGNATIUS A was a winner in his last try at the NW7500 level but don’t go running to the windows at a short price because he’s failed many times in this class as well. (6) CAMARA MOMENT was part of a sizzling pace at Pocono last time. It is hard to believe this guy hasn’t won this year but this certainly looks like a decent spot. Race 8: Trackmaster 77.5 Final - Pick 6 (2) NINETEENTH MAN A has turned into a monster since entering the Keim barn and while he’s no lock, you have to give him a big win chance. (1) MCWICKED TIME was overbet in his first try for Rob Harmon and he raced just ok. Don’t give up on this guy too quickly and he only had the horse for a few days prior to the start and improvement is possible. (3) FERRAGAMO HANOVER has gone some very good miles in the TM77 class and he should offer some decent value. (9) MARCUS SEELSTER has the early speed to fire to the top. Can he get away with reasonable fractions? Race 9: Non-winners $12,500 (NW L2 $14,000) in last 5 or 9 (NW L2 10) races life/TM 88 (NW 2L4 90) or less (7) NANDOLO N has raced at The Meadowlands a number of times since coming to the U.S. and I’d argue that this is the softest spot he has ever seen. The form doesn’t look great but he has the class to overcome. (1) BUILD THE WALL was rolling along in great form until he was thrown to the wolves in the Open where he didn’t belong. This field is more up his alley but hardly an easy spot for him. (5) SOUTH BEACH STAR will be gunning to the top and he’s been known to get brave on the lead if left alone. Race 10: Trackmaster 71 (NW 2L4 73) or less/NW $5,100 in last 5 - $50K GTD Pick 4 (2) ALL TOO WELL ran into Cool Papa Bell last time and he’s not in his league. I can see this guy getting more aggressive in this spot. (1) BLINDING LIGHTS AS returns here at a reduced level and will clearly be a major win player. (5) WINNERESS reunites with Beckwith. The pair finished third in this class five starts back. Race 11: Trackmaster 74.5 Final (5) SAN JOSE went a big mile on the rim attacking the leader and held very well. We should be able to get another decent price on him here. (10) SELECT FRIDAY is on quite a roll. Last week he tucked, gapped cover and simply wore down the leaders. Post 10 is an obstacle but not an unsurmountable one. (4) HES A SWEETHEART was the horse who brushed to the front in fast fractions and battled with the top one before wilting. A better trip can certainly produce a better result. (8) NATIONAL SPORT has some class and could take advantage if the race gets crazy. Race 12: Winners 2-4 (NW L2 5) races or $50,000 (NW L2 $60,000) life (3) LAFITTE has been lightly raced this year when compared to the others in the field and he did drop a second in his second race back from winter vacation. Another step forward could see him in the winner’s circle at a nice price. (7) WAFFLE BLUE CHIP has been a bit hit and miss in terms of getting wins. One plus is that he figures to be sitting first or second here in a short field. (5) DELRAY BEACH comes off a career-best mile and deserves respect. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 13: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2 73) or less (5) SUNBURNT reunites with Beckwith tonight, who just missed with her two starts back in a higher class. Five-year-old can take advantage of an expected good early pace. (1) JUST MY MAMA does her best work when she draws inside and can save ground before pouncing late. (2) BETTE TINA has a good record when she drops to the TM71 level. Inside post also works to her advantage. (4) MS FRANCES ASSISI returns here where she had plenty of success – a win and two seconds in her last three tries. Race 14: Trackmaster 68 (NW L2 70.63) or less (3) BRONSONS DELIGHT missed two years of action and showed up in the amateur ranks at Philly. His first start was good and then he landed the dreaded eight hole. Nine-year-old must have something left in the tank if Cano kept him around for two years and he couldn’t have landed in a softer field if he hand-picked it himself. Stratton drives this week! (6) COLE ON THE BEACH has landed on the board in three of his last five starts. In this field that makes him a killer. (2) AWESOME TIMES TWO seems to be the speed of the race and may try to bottom them out. His two wins this year are more than the rest of the field combined.
