Golden Malibu wins the $75,000 Heavenly Lass at Pimlico on Saturday.

A pair of 2-year-olds who ran well on Maryland Million Day swept the co-features at Pimlico on Saturday afternoon.

Golden Malibu ($3.40), third in the Maryland Million Lassie, overtook recent maiden winner Take a Check at the eighth pole and pulled away by two lengths in the $75,000 Heavenly Lass for 2-year-old Maryland-bred fillies. She ran the six furlongs in 1:11.94.

Monster Chaser ($9.80) ran down pacesetter Bank on the Champ in deep stretch to take the $75,000 Rollicking for 2-year-old Maryland-breds by 1 1/4 lengths.

Much closer to the early pace than he was three weeks earlier when he finished second in the Maryland Million Nursery, Monster Chaser took command inside the eighth pole in the six-furlong race. He covered the distance in 1:12.50.

Bank on the Champ nipped New York shipper Maddy's Lion by a nose for second. Maddy's Lion broke a step slowly and was forced to steady entering the turn.

What's Up Lonely, the even-money favorite after winning the Maryland Million Nursery, finished fourth of five.
