McMahon of Saratoga adding two stallions

McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds will add two stallions to their stallion roster in 2012: Grade 1 winner Here Comes Ben and former Vinery New York resident Justenuffhumor.

Marianne and Brandon Chase’s homebred Here Comes Ben won last year’s Forego Stakes and back-to-back editions of the Kelly’s Landing Stakes in 2010 and 2011. In his last start in July at Saratoga, Here Comes Ben, a 5-year-old Street Cry horse, ran fourth in the James Marvin Stakes, won by Jackson Bend. He closed out his career with seven wins and more than $410,000 in earnings. Here Comes Ben is out of Chasetheragingwind, by Dayjur. He will stand for $7,500.

Justenuffhumor is a half-brother to 2006’s champion juvenile filly, Dreaming of Anna, and graded winner Lewis Michael. A Distorted Humor 6-year-old, Justenuffhumor won six straight in 2009, capped by victories over Cowboy Cal in the Grade 2 Bernard Baruch and Mambo Meister in the Grade 2 Fourstardave. He went on to finish third in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Mile that season. He earned more than $530,000 after winning half his 12 starts.

Justenuffhumor is out of stakes-winner Justenuffheart, by Broad Brush. He will stand for $5,000 in his second year at stud.
