McM Sheza Fast Cutie heads Futurity

McM Sheza Fast Cutie, the fastest qualifier in 10 trials on Oct. 1, heads the field for the finals of the $272,918 Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders Association Futurity at Evangeline Downs. A field of 10 Louisiana-bred 2-year-olds will dash 350 yards in the restricted Grade 1.

Making her first start off a more than three-month layoff, McM Sheza Fast Cutie stamped her ticket to the final by posting the fastest qualifying time of the more than 80 2-year-olds with a clocking of 17.987 seconds.

The Bobby Martinez-trained McM Sheza Fast Cutie has been installed as the track's 2-1 morning-line favorite and will break from post 7. Raul Ramirez Jr., who has been aboard in all four of her starts, has the return call.

One Rare Copy and Dealagame, who each posted a strong trial win, have impressive race records. One Rare Copy, a stakes-placed son of One Rare Bug, is the leading earner in the field with more than $139,000. He has won 4 of 9 starts.

Dealagame also is stakes-placed and hails from the barn of Janet Van Bebber. Dealagame recorded the second fastest qualifying time of 18.034 seconds while earning his third win from six lifetime starts.

One Rare Copy and Dealagame have been listed as the second and third choices in the morning line at odds of 4-1 and 9-2, respectively. One Rare Copy will be ridden by Orlando Baldillez, while Alfonso Lujan will be on board Dealagame.
