A seven-figure mare topped selling Wednesday at the third session of the Magic Millions national broodmare sale on Australia's Gold Coast, bringing about $2,280,000. That was what Hong Kong-based owner Deborah Ho paid for She Will Be Loved. A 4-year-old Strategic mare, she sold in foal to leading Australian sire Redoute's Choice as part of the Kia Ora consignment.

She Will Be Loved is an Australian Group 2 winner.

Ho, accompanied by bloodstock agent Cherry Taylor, said, "She's a really lovely mare. She might only be a Group 2 winner, but she's a beautiful mare and is carrying a colt by Redoute's Choice."

Ho outbid Nathan Tinkler's Patinack Farm for the session-topper, but Patinack came back to purchase Volted In, a half-sister to Group 1 winners Drum and Anamato, for about $874,000, Wednesday's second-highest price.

Through Wednesday's third session, the five-day auction had sold 460 mares for about $33,129,112, resulting in an average price of about $72,019.
