Mare seeks fourth win in five tries

Heaven Came Down tries for her fourth win in five starts in Thursday's $34,000 third race, a second-level allowance at six furlongs that attracted a field of six.

Heaven Came Down has turned out to be a profitable claim for trainer Tim Pinfield. He claimed the 5-year-old mare in June at Hollywood Park for $12,500, and in her next start she led throughout to win a $16,000 claiming race at Del Mar by four lengths.

Heaven Came Down made it two straight wins with a wire-to-wire victory over $20,000 claimers at Bay Meadows. She stepped into allowance company at Fairplex for her next start and finished second. Heaven Came Down returned to Bay Meadows Oct. 19 and again she went straight to the lead and never looked back, winning the six-furlong dash in a rapid 1:09.87.

Heaven Came Down has won five races this year, three of them since the claim in June, and she should be favored to add to that total on Thursday.

One Number Short and Most of All are likely to pose the main threats to Heaven Came Down. One Number Short finished fourth against high-priced claimers at Santa Anita in her last two races. One Number Short has been facing tough company and is looking for her first win of the year.

Most of All won a first-level allowance race last out at Bay Meadows. Trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, Most of All rallied from sixth in that six-furlong dash and the result was her first win of the year. Most of All has six wins in her career. She seems in top form.

Gifted Daughter also deserves consideration. She has shown good speed against better on the turf course at Bay Meadows.
