Marble Cliff's streak on line

Marble Cliff, an easy winner of his first two starts, will be hard-pressed to keep his undefeated streak alive when he faces five other Ohio-bred 3-year-old colts and geldings going six furlongs in the $50,000 H.B. Noonan at Beulah Park.

In his career debut on Feb. 8, Marble Cliff won by 9 1/4 lengths. Running against older horses for the first time in a statebred entry-level allowance at Beulah on March 29, Marble Cliff won by 9 1/4 lengths again. His time of 1.09.90 is one of the fastest six-furlong times of the meet. He was awarded a 78 Beyer Speed Figure.

Marble Cliff signaled his readiness for Saturday's stakes with a bullet work for trainer Doug Cowans on April 19. Luis Martinez Jr. retains the mount.

Cold Trial, trained by Tim Hamm, is one of two stakes winners in the field, having won the Hoover at River Downs last July. Cold Trial raced twice in allowance races at Gulfstream Park this year. He added Lasix for his last start, and had a pair of recent bullet works in Florida. Jason Lumpkins will ride.

O'Riain, the Ohio 2-year-old champion last year, won both the Ohio Juvenile and Ohio Freshman, both two-turn races. In his first start this year, O'Riain ran an even fourth in an optional claiming race against older horses at Beulah on April 8. Trained by Ivan Vazquez and ridden by Victor Urieta-Moran, O'Riain should be running well late.

Type A Personality, Key Low, and Poole of Cash complete the field.
