Main Sequence capped a 4-for-4 campaign by winning the Breeders' Cup Turf on Nov. 1.

Main Sequence, the winner of the Breeders’ Cup Turf at Santa Anita on Nov. 1, began light training for a winter campaign on Monday, trainer Graham Motion said.

Main Sequence was walked under tack at Motion’s base in Maryland, the gelding’s first exercise since the BC Turf.

“He was getting pretty fresh, so it was time to do something,” Motion said. “I think he put on a bit of condition.”

Owned by the Niarchos family, Main Sequence is a contender for Horse of the Year following an unbeaten campaign, with four wins in Grade 1 turf races in New York, New Jersey, and California in 2014.

For 2015, Motion has picked two early-season stakes – the $200,000 Mac Diarmida Stakes over 1 3/8 miles on turf at Gulfstream Park on Feb. 21 and the $6 million Dubai Sheema Classic over 1 1/2 miles on turf at Meydan Racecourse on March 28.

Main Sequence, 5, has won 8 of 18 starts and earned $3,298,396.
