Maidens make for tough puzzle

AURORA, Colo. - The fillies division of the $20,000-added Colorado-bred Stallion Stakes figures to be a wide-open wagering affair. Seven maidens entered the seven-furlong race, which will highlight the nine-race program at Arapahoe on Sunday afternoon.

First-time starter Christi's Cash, bred and owned by Lynne McGregor, looks solid off her steady string of workouts. She began training in March at Sunland Park for trainer James Jones. Christi's Cash capped off a string of six consecutive works here on May 30 with a bullet work from the gate. She will be ridden by Don Frazier.

Gold Is Cash and Pray for Cash, running as an uncoupled entry, figure to be the main challengers. They are trained by Kenneth Gleason, who always seems to have his statebred runners ready for top-notch performances.

Will She B, second in a maiden race here last Saturday, and Tall Sally, who ships in from SunRay off a troubled trip against maiden company, each merit consideration in this lineup.
