Magna 5 pays $406K for single winning ticket

A single ticket, sold at Hollywood Park, isolated all five winners in Saturday's Magna 5 - including 70-1 shot Musique Toujours in the Sunshine Millions Classic - and was worth $406,985.80.

The Magna 5 features five races, all run in less than one hour, all at Magna Entertainment tracks. It also has a guaranteed pool of $500,000, which was reached. Saturday's pool was $521,776.80.

The lone favorite to win in the sequence was Silmaril ($3.60), who won the first leg, the 10th at Laurel, the Nellie Morse Stakes. After that, it was largely a parade of upsets, beginning with Valentine Dancer ($19), who won the second leg, the Sunshine Millions Filly and Mare Turf, the ninth at Gulfstream Park.

Sweet Lips ($27.60) won the third leg, the Sunshine Millions Distaff, the sixth at Santa Anita. Several tickets remained alive after Time to Be on Top ($9.80) captured the fourth leg, the sixth at Golden Gate Fields.

But then all tickets, save for one, were blown out in the finale, the 10th at Gulfstream, when Musique Toujours raced gate to wire for a $142.20 stunner in the Sunshine Millions Classic.
