ARCADIA, Calif. - The $2 Magna 5 pick five bet returned a record low $4,657.60 to 103 ticket-holders on Saturday. The bet was easier than previous weeks because of a dead heat at Gulfstream Park that included a strong favorite.

The previous low was $5,323.20 on Feb. 7. The bet returned a record high of $205,703 to two ticket-holders on Feb. 28.

The Magna Pick 5 requires players to pick the winners of five races at tracks owned by Magna Entertainment.

In Saturday's second leg, the 10th race at Gulfstream Park, Megantic ($5.40) and Mutamayyaz ($3) finished in a dead heat.

The other winners were Leavn Ona Jetplan ($7.40) in the first leg, the ninth race from Laurel. Following the dead heat, the winners were Early Cotton ($21.20) in the third leg, the fifth race from Golden Gate Fields; Macward ($7.40) in the fourth leg, the sixth race from Santa Anita; and Lion Tamer ($5.20) in the final leg, the 11th race from Gulfstream.

Mutamayyaz, Macward and Lion Tamer were favored.

Saturday's handle of $615,046 was the highest in the six-week history of the bet and easily surpassed the $500,000 guaranteed by Magna.

* In Saturday's pick six at Santa Anita, the pool reached a total of $1,167,148, exceeding the track's guarantee of $1 million. The bet paid $14,821 to 44 ticket-holders.
