Made You Look wins the With Anticipation Stakes by two lengths Wednesday.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Trainer Todd Pletcher continued his dominance of the Grade 2 With Anticipation Stakes on Wednesday, winning the 2-year-old turf fixture for the fifth time in the last nine years when Made You Look surged through a small opening on the rail to register a popular two-length victory over Keep Quiet to help kick off the final week of the 2016 Saratoga meeting.

Making his first start since winning his maiden at Belmont Park nearly 11 weeks ago, Made You Look settled into a perfect stalking position off the early pace set by the maiden Gemologister and prompted from the outset by Monsoon K S A and second choice Keep Quiet.

Javier Castellano bided his time aboard 8-5 favorite Made You Look before finding a narrow seam inside the tiring leader near the eighth pole. Made You Look quickly shot through the opening, surged clear, then held a safe advantage to the wire.

Keep Quiet broke a step slowly, was hung three wide, forcing the issue throughout, and continued on gamely to be second-best. Bird’s Eye View rallied belatedly for third.

The win was the second in three starts for Made You Look, a son of More than Ready owned in partnership by Lets Go Stable and Three Chimneys Farm. He completed 1 1/16 miles over the firm course in 1:43.12 and paid $5.40.

Pletcher’s previous With Anticipation winners included Azar (2015), Bashart (2013), Interactif (2009), and Bittel Road (2008).

“We were getting a beautiful trip, and it was just a matter of whether he found a spot to go through,” said Pletcher. “And I thought for a young horse to shoot through a little opening was pretty brave on his part. He’s been training very well, we were looking forward to a great effort, we got a great trip, and he delivered.”

Pletcher said he expects that Made You Look might get even better with more distance.

“He’s got a fantastic pedigree top and bottom,” said Pletcher. “And it’s a lot of fun to have a son of More Than Ready, who has been so good to our stable and the Scatuorchios, not only him but his offspring. He’s been a great horse.”

Pletcher said his options for Made You Look include running him back in the Grade 3 Pilgrim at Belmont Park on Oct. 1 or training him up to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf.
