Made Me Shiver gave trainer Steve Asmussen a sweep of Monmouth Park’s holiday weekend stakes for 2-year-olds when she darted to a 1 1/4-length win over Easy Money in the $100,000 Sorority on Monday. Asmussen on Sunday won the Sapling for the sixth time in his career, taking the race with Tip Tap Tapizar.

Made Me Shiver ($3.60) settled just off the pace set by Midnight Union, who took the field through an opening quarter in 22.37 seconds and a half-mile in 45.79. Made Me Shiver overtook that one and went on to cover six furlongs on a track rated fast in 1:11.25.

“I had a really good trip,” said Antonio Gallardo, who was aboard Made Me Shiver. “I got lucky.”

Made Me Shiver races for the partnership of Hill ‘n Dale Equine and Joel Quenneville. She came into the Sorority off a fourth-place finish to Sweet Loretta in the Grade 3 Schuylerville at Saratoga. Sweet Loretta on Saturday won the Grade 1 Spinaway in a dead heat at Saratoga. Made Me Shiver started her career at Churchill Downs, with a debut win in a maiden special weight June 17.

Made Me Shiver is believed to be the first stakes winner for the young stallion Maclean’s Music, a former Asmussen trainee who won his career debut with a Beyer Speed Figure of 114.
