Macho Uno will shuttle to Brazil

Frank Stronach's Adena Springs will send champion Macho Uno to Brazil this year for the stallion's first shuttle season, the Paris, Ky., farm announced Wednesday.

Macho Uno, the champion juvenile in 2000 and sire of Grade 1 winners Macho Again and Wicked Style, will stand the Southern Hemisphere breeding season at Sao Jose da Serra in partnership with the Parana Breeders and Owners Association of Brazil. As part of the deal, Adena will put part of the stallion's revenue toward bonus purses for Brazilian breeders and to sponsor a Macho Uno Cup race in 2014.

Macho Uno's Southern Hemisphere fee has not been set yet, according to an Adena spokesman, Dave Williams.

Macho Uno, a 12-year-old Holy Bull horse, stands for an advertised fee of $25,000 at Adena Springs Kentucky.

Macho Uno is out of the 2000 Broodmare of the Year, Primal Force, by Mr. Prospector. He is a half-brother to the 1998 Breeders' Cup Classic winner Awesome Again.
