Macho Uno filly tops Friday’s OBS June breeze show

A Macho Uno filly turned in the session’s fastest time for a furlong at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. June 2-year-olds in training and horses of racing age sale on Friday, covering the distance in :9 4/5 seconds. The workout tied for the fastest furlong overall through four days of the breeze show.

The bay filly is out of the winning Jade Hunter mare Jade Butterfly, who is the dam of three winners from as many foals to race and is a full sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Diazo. Bred in Kentucky by Pope McLean, Pope McLean Jr., and Marc McLean, the filly is from the family of Grade 3 winners Real Dandy and Merry Meadow.

The filly is a pinhook for consignor Albert Davis of Old South Farm, who purchased her as a weanling for $35,000 at the 2012 Keeneland November breeding stock sale.

Three juveniles tied for the fastest time at a quarter mile, clocking in at :20 4/5 seconds over the Ocala Training Center’s synthetic Safetrack surface. The co-leaders joined a Bluegrass Cat colt during Monday’s session as the fastest overall horses at the distance.

The three horses to breeze in the co-fastest time of the day were:

► Hip No. 808, a bay Magna Graduate colt out of the unraced Unbridled Energy mare Icey Energy. The Indiana-bred is consigned as agent by Blue River Bloodstock and is from the family of Grade 3 winner Crackedbell.

► Hip No. 841, Silver Jenny, a gray or roan filly from the first crop of sire Lantana Mob, out of the unplaced Gold Case mare Jennierees. Southern Chase Farm consigns the Indiana-bred Silver Jenny as agent.

► Hip No. 908, Never Give In, a dark bay or brown Wildcat Heir colt out of the winning Roar mare Let It Roar who is a half sister to graded winner and producer Two Item Limit. Consigned by Journeyman Bloodstock Services, Inc., agent, the Florida-bred is also from the family of Grade 2 winner Arena Elvira.
