ARCADIA, Calif. – Lull was everything but dull in Sunday’s Grade 3 Autumn Miss Stakes for 3-year-old fillies on turf at Santa Anita.

Always near the front through a quick pace, Lull flew around the turn under jockey Flavien Prat to score the first graded stakes win of her career and third stakes win.

Sent off favored, Lull ($6.40) ran a mile in 1:32.66.

“I didn’t feel I was going that fast,” Prat said. “I guess she has a lot of speed.”

Prat rode Lull for the first time in the $102,760 Autumn Miss Stakes. Trained by Christophe Clement for Claiborne Farms and Adele Dilschneider, Lull has won two stakes at Kentucky Downs in the last two Septembers.

The Autumn Miss was Lull’s first win around two turns in her fifth attempt.

Prat had Lull in second for the first half-mile, stalking 92-1 Almost Carla through early fractions of 22.35 seconds for the opening quarter-mile and 45 for the half. Lull took the lead on the turn and led by two lengths with a furlong remaining and by 3 1/4 lengths at the wire.

“I was trying to get her to relax,” Prat said. “For her, it was a nice gallop.”

Chocolate Coated, an 11-1 shot, closed from seventh in the final furlong to finish second, a head in front of 8-1 Storm the Hill.

Tapped finished fourth, followed by Kathy’s Song, Spin Me a Kiss, Meadowsweet, Almost Carla, Beautiful Becca, Sandy’s Surprise, Reverse, Domestic Vintage, and Miss Southern Miss.

Lull, by War Front, has won 4 of 11 starts and earned $668,057.
