Lovell has tough duo ready to go

Claudia's Forum, who has won his last three starts, and Go Patrick Go, who last month won his debut with a Beyer Speed Figure of 82, have been key contributors to the high-percentage meet trainer Michelle Lovell has crafted at Louisiana Downs. Saturday, both horses will be back in action in Bossier City, running in the two best races on the card.

Claudia's Forum goes in the fifth, an optional $10,000 claiming race at 1 1/16 miles on turf. His streak started July 10, when he won for a $5,000 claiming price on dirt. Claudia's Forum then made a rare surface switch and won back-to-back turf routes, one for a claiming price of $7,500 on Aug. 8, and the other a $5,000 starter allowance on Aug. 20.

"He's kind of creeping up the ladder," said Lovell. "I think he's improved a little bit on turf. I don't think he's minded it at all."

Lovell is winning races at a 30 percent rate and ranks fifth in the standings.

Go Patrick Go will run in the ninth, a first-level optional $12,000 claimer that brings together some old class sluggers at six furlongs. Go Patrick Go is the fresh new face with the best last-out Beyer. His rivals include Fass Feat, Toga Too, Real Quiet Man, and Smilin' Del.
