Louisiana sale has 431 offered

EmailThe Breeders' Sales Co. of Louisiana has cataloged 431 horses to its yearling and mixed session sale Monday and Tuesday at the Ike Hamilton Equine Exposition Center in West Monroe, La.

The first day of the sale will feature 274 yearlings by such sires as Afternoon Deelites, Broken Vow, Deputy Commander, Ide, Leestown, Mutakiddim, and Van Nistelrooy. The second day of the sale will offer 157 broodmares, horses of racing age, and weanlings.

In results from another Louisiana auction, Horse Creek, a yearling filly by Horse Chestnut, brought a $40,000 bid from Bradley Zaunbrecher and Eric Thomas to top the Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Sales Co. fall yearling sale in Shreveport on Oct. 1. She was consigned by McFadden Farm, agent for J. Adcock and Neal McFadden.

Bidder Dreams, a yearling colt out of Hallowed Dreams, brought $31,000 from Riceland Racing Stables. He was consigned to the sale by Lloyd Romero and Johnny Gaspard, who raced Hallowed Dreams. She won the first 16 races of her career to tie the modern mark for consecutive wins held by Citation, Cigar, and Mister Frisky. Bidder Dreams is by the stallion Valid Bidder.
