Louisiana: Perfection on the line

Bob O's Boy will put his perfect record on the line at Louisiana Downs when he makes his turf and two-turn debut in the $50,000 Bossier City Handicap. Silver Haze is the 119-pound highweight in the race for 3-year-olds on the strength of his back-to-back wins over the local turf course, his latest score coming in the $50,000 Excalibur.

has a record of 3 for 3, all in dirt sprints at Lone Star.

Bret Calhoun, who trains Bob O's Boy, said he had wanted to first introduce the colt to two turns, and later move him to turf, but when no dirt routes became available, the plan had to change. Calhoun prepared Bob O's Boy for his turf debut with a work over the grass, four furlongs around the dogs in 54.80 seconds June 6.

"I gave him a little light breeze here on Monday at Lone Star, and his action was very good over it," said Calhoun. "He looked very good."

Quincy Hamilton, regular rider for Bob O's Boy, will travel in from Lone Star for the mount. Bob O's Boy is a son of Gentlemen, who was a Grade 2 winner on turf.

worked a bullet four furlongs in 47.80 seconds June 4 in his final prep for the Bossier City. Trainer Steve Wren has given the mount to E.J. Perrodin.
