Louisiana Downs: No surprise

The heavily favored Ketchme-whereyoucan ran to her price Saturday afternoon as she captured the $50,000 Dixie Miss Stakes at Harrah's Louisiana Downs by 1 1/4 lengths. Risen Empress, at 21-1 the longest shot in the field, rallied from last to finish second, 1 1/2 lengths ahead of by Kera's Kitty Cat.

Trained by Tommie Morgan, Ketchmewhereyoucan ($3.80) allowed early leader Ms American Champ to clear early through and opening quarter of 21.59 seconds before moving on that foe late in the turn. Under jockey John Jacinto, Ketchmewhereyoucan steadily drew clear and held off the late bid by Risen Empress to prevail by 1 1/4 lengths. The final time for the six furlongs over a fast track was 1:12.07.

The win was Ketchmewhereyou-can's fourth from 11 starts and her first in stakes company. A daughter of Distorted Humor, she picked up $30,000 and has now earned just over $102,000.

"The race set up perfectly," Jacinto said. "It went just as we planned. She made her move at the three-eighths pole and responded well. She was ready. I had confidence in her."
