A lot of firsts for Bobcat Greeley

Bobcat Greeley, making her first start since coming to trainer Michael Dickinson's barn and racing for the first time since July at Calder, registered her first stakes victory when she scored by three lengths in Tuesday night's $75,000 Autumn Leaves at Mountaineer Race Track.

The 4-year-old Bobcat Greeley ($14.80) dueled with 9-5 second choice Fast Navy through six furlongs in 1:11.99, but her biggest challenge came at the quarter pole when 3-2 favorite Noble Gesture loomed boldly. Jockey Rex Stokes III, recognizing that the outer paths were the best part of the sloppy, sealed track, moved farther outside, forcing Noble Gesture and jockey Dana Whitney to go inside. Noble Gesture, who had won her previous two starts by 10 1/4 lengths, was unable to sustain her rally along the rail and had to settle for second, 4 3/4 lengths in front of Amber Note.

Bobcat Greeley, now 4 for 20 lifetime, covered the 1 1/16 miles in 1:44.38.
