Lone Star Park: One Handsome Man moves up to first via DQ in Dash for Cash Futurity


Prince Valleyant finished first in Saturday night’s Grade 1, $425,565 Dash For Cash Futurity for Quarter Horses at Lone Star Park, but was disqualified and placed sixth after drifting out from the rail in a move that put One Handsome Man in the winner’s circle. The two horses had been the two fastest qualifiers for the Dash for Cash.

Prince Valleyant, the fastest qualifier for the finale, on Saturday night covered 400 yards in the slop in 19.62 seconds. He dueled from the start and finished three-quarters of a length in front of One Handsome Man. One Handsome Man ($5.60), who was ridden by Oscar Rincon, earned $170,226. Prince Valleyant picked up $21,278 for sixth in the Dash for Cash.

One Handsome Man races for Flying Hooves RC and is trained by Ralph Muniz.

In the Grade 2, $174,000 Dash for Cash Derby for Quarter Horses, Chicks Smart Money ($14) was prominent throughout for a half-length win over Fast Prize Mike.
