London Snow ($11.70) overtook Only If Split at the sixteenth pole en route to a two-length score in the $126,200 Ballade Stakes at Woodbine. Steve Bahen had London Snow reserved well off the pace in the six-furlong sprint, as Only If Split set fractions of 22.38 and 45.33 seconds while being stalked by the lukewarm favorite, Shot Gun Ela. London Snow commenced a wide rally on the turn, and closed strongly in the stretch to complete distance in 1:09.82. Only If Split held second, and Executive Flight came on belatedly for third in the eight-horse field of Ontario-sired fillies and mares. "There was a lot of speed in the race," said Bahen. "She rated real nice, and was relaxed. When I called on her, she came running." London Snow banked $75,000 for Kirk Bradden Stable and trainer John Charalambous.
