Breeders' Cup Turf winner Little Mike will run next in the Joe Hirsch Turf Classic at Belmont on Sept. 28 instead of the Shadwell Turf Mile.

Owner Carlo Vaccarezza has announced that Little Mike, winner of the Breeders’ Cup Turf last year, will run next in the Joe Hirsch Turf Classic on Sept. 28 at Belmont instead of the Shadwell Turf Mile a week later at Keeneland.

The $600,000 Joe Hirsch goes at 1 1/2 miles, while the $750,000 Shadwell is run at a mile. Both are Grade 1 events.

Vaccarezza had been leaning toward the Shadwell Mile since Little Mike, winless in four starts this year, finished sixth in the Aug. 17 Arlington Million. Dale Romans trains.

I know he won the BC Turf. But this article is about the Joe Hirsch when last year he shipped in from Chicago to 6 furlongs and stopped. Get to know your horseracing Chad.

sounds like that match up between Little Mike and Wise Dan that Carlo talked about before the Arlington Million don't sound sooo good now. Im sure that Mr. Ramsey would like to make a little gentlemans bet with Carlo on his two horses Real Solution and Big Blue Kitten in the Joe Hirsch

Look forward to seeing him run in New York. I am not sure the mile and a half is what he needs at this time. He hasn't shown a bit of run in him this year hope to see him show some effort. Best of Luck!

This horse is not the same. hasn't shown to want to run one lick. He will be bet down in this race again and will set up peeple to win big on others.
