HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. - Little Mike, upset winner of the Grade 3 Fort Lauderdale Stakes for trainer Allen Iwinski last Sunday, has been transferred to trainer Dale Romans's barn, the gelding’s owner-breeder Carlo Vaccarezza said on Saturday.

Little Mike led throughout then won a head bob from Blues Street to register the first graded stakes win of his career in the Fort Lauderdale. The victory was the fifth in six starts since Iwinski switched Little Mike to the turf this summer at Monmouth Park.

“Allen did a great job with Little Mike but we had some differences in philosophy, a little disagreement that had been brewing for a long time,” Vaccarezza said. “Things happen in racing and I just felt it was time to move on. Little Mike’s success has really been a team effort. A lot of the credit also goes to James Crupi for the job he did with this horse in Ocala along with the way Allen handled him at the racetrack.”
