Lincoln: Lou Lou Larue looks tough in Bluegrass

Email

Lou Lou Larue will likely be favored when a field of eight older fillies and mares hook up in the $15,000 Bluegrass Stakes at six furlongs Saturday at Lincoln Race Course.

Lou Lou Larue puts her perfect 4-for-4 mark over this track on the line as she looks to push her career earnings over the $100,000 mark for trainer Chuck Turco. She has posted a career mark of 7-2-1 from 11 starts with earnings of $95,524. Lou Lou Larue comes off a win against Nebraska-bred open allowance company at Fonner Park on April 23 in her only start out of stakes company. She also won the Bold Accent Stakes at Fonner Park in March but then failed to handle the muddy going there on March 26 when a distant third in the Orphan Kist Stakes.

Turco will also send out Nomatterwhere as part of an uncoupled entry for owner Richard Galyen. Nomatterwhere put together a four-race win streak last year when moving through her allowance conditions. In her last start, she was second in optional claiming company to the talented C O Barqueen on April 30 at Fonner Park.

Trainer Steve Hall sends out Nayborhood Affair, who also is undefeated over this surface with three wins. She won the Orphan Kist Stakes at Fonner Park but tired in her last out to finish eighth in the Al Swihart Stakes. Nayborhood Affair won 5 of 10 starts last year and is 7-1-1 from 16 starts overall.
