Lincoln: Blumin Attitude streaking

Blumin Attitude puts a four-race win streak on the line in his biggest test to date in the $20,000 Big Red Mile for older Nebraska-breds at Lincoln.

Among those taking on Blumin Attitude is the Herb Riecken-owned and -trained High Dice, now 12, who has won this race four times in his storied career.

This will be Blumin Attitude's first race going longer than six furlongs. Winless as a 3-year-old last year, he opened this season at Fonner Park with a second-place finish in maiden company, then returned to score by 13 1/2 lengths in his next start. He rattled off three allowance wins in succession, Jockey Dennis Collins will have to rate his speed from

post 9. Blumin Attitude is trained by Jim Cranwell.

Riecken is sending out High Dice and stablemate Mortrump as an uncoupled entry. High Dice won this race in 1999, 2000, and 2001, then came back to win again in 2003. High Dice owns a mark of 10-4-7 from 26 starts over the Lincoln surface. He has earned more than $343,000 in his career. Armando Martinez will ride from post 7.

High Fleet, fourth in this race last year, finished sixth in the Bosselman at Fonner Park last time out. He could be poised for a big effort here.

Skwhirl, winner of the State Fair Breeders' Special going a mile here last year, also has an upset chance. He is winless in five starts sprinting this year but may be ready for a better effort at this longer distance.
