Letithappencaptain takes Wafare Farm

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - Letithappencaptain rallied past a hot pace to pick up her second straight stakes win Saturday in the $50,000 Wafare Farm at Lone Star Park.

It was four and a half lengths back in second to 56-1 shot Olguina, who was a length and a half clear of favorite Eternal Cup.

Leithappencaptain ($28.80) was cutting back to one turn for the Wafare following a win at a mile on turf in the $100,000 Sarah Lane's Oates Handicap at Fair Grounds, and covered the six furlongs for 3-year-old fillies in 1:09.55.

She settled in seventh early, while Hannah's Royalrock, Eternal Cup and You Glitter Girl dueled through an opening quarter in 21.43 seconds. Olguina took over through a half-mile in 43.87 seconds, but could not fend off the powerful closing kick of Letithappencaptain.

"It set up real nice," said Kirk Leblanc, who rode Letithappencaptain for owner-trainer W.J. Zeringue.

Letithappencaptain earned $30,000 for the win, which was her fourth from seven starts. Her earnings now stand at $151,300.
