Leroidesanimaux to stand for $25,000 in 2013

Led by classic-producing sire Leroidesanimaux at $25,000, Woodford Stallions LLC at Stonewall Farm Ocala in Florida unveiled its 2013 stallion roster and fees on Friday.

The 12-year-old Candy Stripes horse, best known as the sire of 2011 Kentucky Derby winner and champion Animal Kingdom, stood for $22,500 in 2012.

Leroidesanimaux won nine of 13 career starts, earning $1,658,377. He received the Eclipse Award as champion turf male of 2005, when he won the Frank E. Kilroe Mile Handicap and Atto Mile Stakes and finished second in the Breeders' Cup Mile, all Grade 1 events. He also won the Grade 1 Citation Handicap in 2004.

From four crops of racing age, Leroidesanimaux's progeny earnings total $9,607,011. In addition to Animal Kingdom, he has also produced Group 1 winner Una Cabeza, Grade 2 winners Always a Princess and Sarah's Secret, and Grade 3 winner Leroy's Dynameaux.

Big Drama, named champion male sprinter of 2010 after winning the Breeders' Cup Sprint, will stand for $10,000 in 2013. The first foals by the 6-year-old Montbook horse arrive next spring.

Multiple Grade 1 winner Telling will also stand for $10,000 in 2013, up from $6,500 in 2012. General Quarters is next on the list at $7,500, followed by A.P. Warrior and Value Plus at $4,500; Greatness at $4,000; It's No Joke at $3,500; and Strong Contender at $3,000.

Rounding out the roster are Spellbinder, Burning Roma, Causeway's Kin, Da Stoops, Doneraile Court, Frisco Star, and Unforgettable Max, who will each stand for $1,000.

Woodford Stallions at Stonewall Farm Ocala will donate two percent of all stud fees in 2013 to the Florida Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation.
