LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Julien Leparoux and Kent Desormeaux have been suspended three racing days apiece for their roles in the disqualifications of their mounts in the Clark Handicap on Friday at Churchill Downs.

Leparoux finished first aboard Successful Dan in the Grade 1 race, and Desormeaux was fourth on Demarcation. Successful Dan was disqualified to third and Demarcation to last for separate incidents nearing the eighth pole.

The penalties run Thursday through Saturday. Thursday is the first day of racing at Turfway Park, and although neither Desormeaux nor Leparoux will ride there, they will not be permitted to ride elsewhere during the durations of their suspensions.

In a related matter, chief steward John Veitch said Garrett Gomez has been held blameless for his role in the disqualification of his mount, Dad’s Crazy, from first in a Thursday allowance at Churchill.
