Lemon Drop Kid filly tops Thursday’s breeze show

A Lemon Drop Kid filly became the first juvenile to clock a one-furlong workout in under :10 seconds on Thursday during the fourth session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. spring 2-year-olds in training sale.

The bay filly completed her breeze in :9 4/5 seconds to take the fastest overall time of the breeze show at an eighth of a mile with two sessions remaining. The horses ran over the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface.

The filly is out of Yonagucci, a Grade 1-placed stakes-winning Yonaguska mare who has had one winner from two foals to race. The page also includes Grade 1 winner Golden Horde, Grade 2 winner Private Horde, and Grade 3 winner Euphrosyne. Bobby Dodd consigns the filly as agent.

The fastest two-furlong time of the first four under-tack sessions was also achieved on Thursday, when a filly from the first crop of sire Big Drama stopped the clock in :20 3/5 seconds.

Bred in Florida, the filly is out of the stakes-placed Jeblar mare Twilight Mirage, whose three winners from five foals to race includes multiple stakes winner Determinato. The extended family includes Brazilian Group 3 winner James Levine. She is consigned by Eddie Woods, agent.

The OBS spring breeze show continues daily through April 18, with each session beginning at 8 a.m. Eastern. The sale will be held April 21-24, starting each day at 10:30 a.m.
