Leaving On My Mind wins the Fort Bend County Stakes at Sam Houston on Saturday.

Leaving On My Mind, a 3-year-old, picked up the sixth stakes win of his career Saturday night at Sam Houston Race Park when he rallied for a three-quarter length win in the $40,000 Fort Bend County for Texas-breds. General Charley was second, a length and a quarter in front of third-place finisher Dixie Meister.

Leaving On My Mind ($3.60) stalked the pace set by General Charley, who dueled through an opening quarter in 23.06 seconds and a half-mile in 46 seconds. Leaving On My Mind covered the distance over a fast track in 1:23.55

Roman Chapa, who won the $50,000 Carousel at Oaklawn earlier on Saturday, shipped in for the ride aboard Leaving On My Mind. Danny Pish trains the winner, who earned $24,000 for owner George Wolff. Overall, Leaving On My Mind has won 7 of 16 starts and $361,623.
