Lea finished second to Liam's Map in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile on Friday.

Grade 1 winner Lea, the runner-up Friday in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile, on Monday arrived at Claiborne Farm in Paris, Ky., where he will stand at stud for the 2016 breeding season for a fee of $12,500. He will be available for inspection starting Wednesday.

A 6-year-old son of First Samurai out of Greenery, by Galileo, Lea won 7 of 19 starts, including the Grade 1 Donn Handicap in 2014, and earned $2,362,398. Bred and raced by Claiborne Farm and Adele Dilschneider, he was third in this year’s Dubai World Cup and won or placed in 16 races on dirt and turf, including 12 graded stakes.

He won the Donn in track-record time, running the 1 1/8 miles in 1:46.86, and won the Grade 3 Commonwealth Turf Stakes and two runnings of the Grade 3 Hal’s Hope Stakes. He earned triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures in seven of his last eight starts.

Lea’s dam, the stakes-placed mare Greenery, is a half-sister to three graded stakes winners.
