Las Vegas football contests


SuperContest (Las Vegas Hilton): $1,500 per entry, contestants pick five NFL games against the spread each week, first prize is 40% of all entry fees, an estimated $150,000, the Hilton also gives a $10,000 bonus if the champion picks 67%, total prize pool of $335,000 based on 250 entries, deadline to sign up and get first week's entry in is Friday at 1 p.m.

The Eliminator (Bally's, Reno Hilton): $50 entry fee, limit of five entries, players pick one college or pro side or total from 20 pre-selected games each week, you lose once you're out, last person standing wins entire prize pool, deadline Sept. 9 (as long as you enter before your selected game kicks off).

NFL Ultimate Edge (Stratosphere, Arizona Charlie's East, Arizona Charlie's West): $15 entry, buy 4 get 1 free, pick against the spread, $100,000 first prize, pays to 10th place, $10,000 weekly prize, plus $2,000 progressive bonus for having a 15-0 week, progressive carries over until someone goes 15-0, special playoff contest if there's a carryover after Week 17, deadline 8 p.m. Saturday.

Gridiron Growler (Barley's): $200 entry, limit of three entries, players pick 10 sides and 5 totals each week from games selected by management, first prize is 50 percent of the entry fees collected ($5,000 guaranteed), 15 percent to second and 10 percent to third, the remaining 25 percent is distributed as weekly prizes, deadline 10 p.m. Saturday.

$125,000 Free Football Frenzy (The Regent Las Vegas): one free entry per person, no point-spreads, $25,000 prize for end-of-season champion, $5,000 weekly prize, deadline 8 a.m. Sunday.

$100,000 Football Contest (Terrible's): $15 entry, buy 4 get 1 free, no pointspreads, $12,500 first prize to season-long winner, $2,000 in weekly prizes, registration deadline 8 p.m. Saturday, picks deadline 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Most of the following contests offer season-long prizes, but locals or tourists may enter at any time for weekly prizes:

Great Giveaway Football Contest (Palace Station, Boulder Station, Sunset Station, Texas Station, Santa Fe Station and Wild Wild West): $25 entry, buy 2 get 1 free (maximum of three total entries), no pointspreads, $100,000 first prize for person picking the most winners on the season, and another $100,000 for the person picking the most losers, pays down to 100th place, late entrants not eligible for season-end prizes but still able to play for $40,000 in weekly prizes ($25,000 for most winners; $15,000 for most losers), weekly tiebreaker is the person closest to the Monday Night score without going over, $250,000 "Fiddle in the Middle" prize pool to be split by everyone who compiles a .500 record, deadline for season-long prizes is 10 a.m. Sunday.

Pick the Pros (Barbary Coast, Gold Coast, The Orleans, Jackie Gaughan's Plaza): $25 entry, buy 4 get 1 free (maximum of five entries), no pointspreads, $100,000 to overall winner, pays to 360th place, late entrants eligible for season-end prizes (though you're behind by 15 games after Week 1), $40,000 in weekly prizes (guaranteed $10,000 winner each week), deadline 10 a.m. Sundays

$250,000 Football Frenzy (Fiesta, The Reserve): two free entries per person, no pointspreads, $80,000 in season-long prizes paid to 80th place, $10,000 in prizes each week, deadline at midnight Sept. 8 (after the season starts, you can still get in the contest for weekly prizes, but no registrations are accepted on Sundays).

All-American Football Contest (Stardust, Sam's Town, Main Street Station, California, Fremont, Joker's Wild, Eldorado): one free entry per person, no pointspreads, players pick combination of 17 college and pro games, $10,000 winner take all (split equally among multiple winners), deadline 8 a.m. Saturdays.

Pick Your Pros (Cal-Neva books in Northern Nevada and the Club Fortune in Henderson): $25 entry fee, buy 4 get 1 free, no pointspreads, $25,000 prize for season-end champion, $7,500 first prize for most winners picked, $3,500 for second-most winners, $1,000 for least winners, deadline 10 a.m. Sundays.
