Lady Gamer remains unbeaten on Cushion Track

EmailLady Gamer's love affair with synthetic tracks continued Sunday at Hollywood Park, when she proved a deserving favorite and captured the $83,985 Playa Dey Rey Stakes for older female sprinters.

Lady Gamer ($3.40) shot to the front under jockey Garrett Gomez and set fractions of 22.51 seconds for a quarter-mile and 45.42 for a half-mile en route to a final time of 1:08.99 for six furlongs on Cushion Track.

You Are the Answer, who was forced to wait in traffic on the turn, produced a nice late run but had to settle for second, three-quarters of a length behind Lady Gamer. Selvatica was third, another 2 1/4 lengths back, in the field of five.

Lady Gamer, 4, is unbeaten in four starts on Cushion Track at Hollywood Park. Her lone loss on a synthetic surface came on Polytrack at Del Mar, where she was third in the Rancho Bernardo Handicap. She has now won 5 times in 12 starts, with 4 seconds. John Sadler trains Lady Gamer, a daughter of Game Plan, for Clark and Jenine Hansen, who bred and own the California-bred filly.

Sadler said Lady Gamer would be pointed to the $300,000 Sunshine Millions Filly and Mare Sprint going six furlongs on Jan. 26 at Santa Anita.
