LEXINGTON, Ky. – The last two Grade 1 races of the 15-day spring meet will be run this week on the turf course, with the $300,000 Maker’s 46 Mile set for Friday and the $350,000 Jenny Wiley anchoring a slate of four Saturday stakes.

Lady Eli, the star turf mare trained by Chad Brown, will make her 5-year-old debut in the 1 1/16-mile Jenny Wiley, which shapes up as perhaps the best race of the meet. Other probable starters include Catch a Glimpse, Time and Motion, and Dickinson.

Lady Eli had her final prerace work here Sunday, going five furlongs in 1:02.40 on the turf in company with stablemate Roca Rojo.

“I just wanted her to have a recent breeze over the turf course,” said Brown. “She hasn’t run on it since she was 3. I took advantage of the opportunity to get on the turf course and let her get her footing on it.”

Entries for the Maker’s 46 Mile were to be drawn Tuesday, with Bal a Bali, Heart to Heart, and American Patriot among the likely starters in a sizable field. All Saturday entries will be taken Wednesday.
