Kresgeville upsets Manhattan Beach at 30-1

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - The Arizona invader Kresgeville pulled an upset in Sunday's $94,350 , giving jockey Jocelyne Kenny-Martin her first stakes win in her first ride at Hollywood Park.

Kenny-Martin rides regularly on the Turf Paradise-Yavapai circuit.

Kresgeville ($62.60) disputed the lead throughout 5 1/2 furlongs on turf and held off 7-2 favorite Brooke's Halo to win by a nose. Trained by Bradley Rollins for Sandra Hal, Kresgeville was timed in 1:03.17.

Private Banking rallied from last in the field of 11 3-year-old fillies to finish third.

Kresgeville broke well and fought with Key Secret through early fractions of 21.72 and 44.79 seconds. Kresgeville was never farther than a head from the lead.

A California-bred, Kresgeville has won 4 of 6 starts and $93,340. The Manhattan Beach was run only nine days after she won a minor stakes over 6 1/2 furlongs on dirt at Turf Paradise on May 20.
