Krazy Koffee ready to rally

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Trainer Cindy Krasner was expecting better things from Krazy Koffee this year. After all, he won six of his eight races in 2008, including the Grade 3 British Columbia Derby. This year, he has one win, in the $110,000 B.C. Classic.

He could add a second victory when he runs in an unrestricted allowance race that will close out the 2009 Hastings meet Saturday.

Krazy Koffee should be favored in the race, which is run at 1 1/8 miles for 3-year-olds and up and goes as the last of 10 races. He is coming off of a third in the Grade 3 Premiers, and there should be an honest pace to set up his late move.

Frank Fuentes rides Krazy Koffee.

Texas Wildcatter and Meaux Power look like the ones standing in the way of Krazy Koffee.

Texas Wildcatter lost to Meaux Power by a head in a 1 1/16-mile classified allowance race Oct. 25. Texas Wildcatter, who earned his career-best Beyer Speed Figure going 1 1/8 miles, could benefit from the extra distance.

Meaux Power will try to extend his three-race winning streak that started with a narrow victory in an $11,500 claiming race Sept. 4.
