Knight Raider wins her third stakes of meet

AUBURN, Wash. - Knight Raider ran her winning streak to four with a 3 3/4-length victory Sunday in the $60,000 Barbara Shinpoch Stakes, joining Smarty Deb (2007) as the only juvenile fillies to win three stakes races in a season at Emerald Downs.

With Ricky Frazier riding for trainer Doris Harwood, the Washington-bred daughter of Tribunal ran one mile in 1:37 and paid $2.60. She earned $29,700 for co-owners Harwood, Nina Hagen of Enumclaw, Wash., Hollis Sturgeon of Renton, Wash., Delores Christiansen of Kent, Wash., and Colleen Caufield of Eatonville, Wash. Knight Raider has lifetime earnings of $76,643 in five starts.

Knight Raider has won, in order, the 5 1/2-furlong Knights Choice Stakes by 13 lengths, the six-furlong Angie C Stakes by 6 3/4 lengths, and the one-mile Barbara Shinpoch by 3 3/4 lengths.

Rewritten, the 7-1 second choice, rallied to finish second, two lengths ahead of third-place finisher Miss Cygone.
