Kitalpha, a full brother to Kingmambo and Miesque’s Son who was a leading sire in Zimbabwe before relocating to Kentucky, has died of cancer at age 13.
Kitalpha sired two-time Zimbabwean Horse of the Year Rebecca’s Fleet and champions Killaridge and Frogwatch before Gerry Aschinger imported him to his War Horse Place near Lexington, Ky., in 2008.
Kitalpha was found dead in his paddock on Sept. 17, according to a release Aschinger released Friday afternoon. The Mr. Prospector horse recently had been found with cancer, and he appeared to have died “with no trauma,” the release said.
...we will see many kitalpha sons and daughters in the winners circle the next few years, what a shame in the loss

Found dead? That doesn't bode well. Sorry to hear of another champ passing too soon. RIP, Kitalpha.

Poor baby. I hope Kitalpha did not suffer too much. Unfortunately, Kitalpha passed away very young, far too young. You will be missed, Kitalpha. You did your best in life and your best was appreciated. You did very well. Rest in peace.
