Kid Kate draws clear late in the stretch under Eddie Castro to capture the Lady Tak.

Kid Kate maintained her perfect record at Saratoga by rallying from well off the pace to win Wednesday’s $75,000 Lady Tak Stakes by one length over Moontune Missy.

Under Eddie Castro, Kid Kate settled into fourth position behind Moontune Missy, Katey Now, and Christine Daae.

She swung four wide into the stretch, then ran down Moontune Missy in the final 50 yards to get the victory, her fourth in as many starts at the Spa.

Kid Kate, a daughter of Lemon Drop Kid owned by Dell Ridge Farm and trained by Chad Brown, covered the 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:16.37 and returned $5.80 as the favorite.

◗ The stewards fined jockey Kent Desormeaux $500 for misuse of the whip in Monday’s seventh race, which he won aboard Need an Angel. The stewards said Desormeaux hit Need an Angel 16 times with the whip in the stretch.

◗ Agent Ron Anderson will begin booking mounts for jockey Corey Nakatani when the Belmont Park meet opens on Sept. 10. Anderson also is the agent for Garcia.
