Kentucky Downs Jockey7: Geroux, Hernandez, Ortiz formidable trio

Email

Win some, lose some. After correctly tabbing Tyler Gaffalione as the winner in the first Jockey7 Wager on Wednesday, I didn’t even have Julien Leparoux among my secondary selections on Thursday, and all he did was spread-eagle the field.

Saturday is a new day at Kentucky Downs, and I’ll use the same tactic of relying on my 1-2-3 picks in our DRF selectors’ box for the Jockey7, races 4-10. Points could get tight among the trio of Florent Geroux (3), Brian Hernandez Jr. (6), and Jose Ortiz (11), so I’ll link them together in both an exacta and trifecta box of 3-6-11.

The Jockey7 allows horseplayers to bet on individual jockeys and their mounts, and will span the last seven races (4-10) each day at the Kentucky Downs meet.

Win-place-show, exacta, and trifecta wagering will be held on the Jockey7, which consists of 13 jockeys and their assigned mounts, plus a “field” as a 14th entry.

Results are based on a points system for top-four finishes (25-12-9-5).
