Arkansas Derby winner Classic Empire is the 5-1 Kentucky Derby favorite on the Derby Watch line.

WHO’S HOT

There were no additions from last week to this regarding the 20 members of Derby Watch. Classic Empire remains the favorite, at 5-1, on the Kentucky Derby future line set by Mike Watchmaker, Daily Racing Form’s national handicapper.

WHO’S NOT

There were no odds changes from last week on Watchmaker’s line, and no one was dropped from the list. Malagacy is still listed 13th on the points list used to determine the Derby field, but he is not expected to run, and that is why he was removed from the Derby Watch top 20 last week.

ON THE BUBBLE

With every prep now having been run, those seeking to get into the Derby are at the mercy of the points list. As of Wednesday, assuming Malagacy ends up bypassing the Derby – which puts Lookin At Lee in the race, and which is why Lookin At Lee is in the Derby Watch top 20 already – next up would be Sonneteer, then Royal Mo, both of whom are intended runners if they can get in.
