Kentucky Derby revised morning-line odds

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – With the defection of Hoppertunity as the 6-1 second choice on the morning line for the 140th Kentucky Derby, the morning line has been revised and reissued by Churchill Downs following the colt’s untimely defection.

Churchill linemaker Mike Battaglia has maintained California Chrome as the 5-2 favorite and now lists Wicked Strong as the 6-1 second choice, down from an original 8-1. Several other starters have been adjusted slightly downward as well.

Revised Kentucky Derby morning line:
1. Vicar’s In Trouble, 20-1
2. Harry’s Holiday, 50-1

9. Vinceremos, 30-1
10. Wildcat Red, 15-1

15. Tapiture, 12-1
16. Intense Holiday, 8-1
17. Commanding Curve, 50-1

Why is Javier on We Miss Artie? Rocco and Bravo are on his shorter priced horses, right? Isn't he is go to guy now (between Johnny V)? Eclipse award winner last year and leading $ guy. Does this mean Pletcher thinks he can bring him home? At 50-1 I'm thinking about it, hard.

Wildcat Red is my pick.... in the last 3 races he's gone from Grade 3 to Grade 1. Won the Grade 2 & 3 and lost by neck in the Grade 1. Beyer has been from 96 to 101. Is in tip top shape imo and is in the right class. So he's up there in Form, Class and Speed. It is Pace that concerns me with such a large field since WR likes to be a front runner....

And at 15-1 odds!! imo he's an overlay... odds to high.. should be lower....

Mike Battaglia what are you doing with this revised morning line? When the second choice gets scratched, the favorite's odd have to drop. California Chrome should've gone down to 2-1 after the scratch of Hop.

I love it...nobody is talking about the only horse in the field who has beaten Cal Chrome, and that is #12 Dance With Fate...could be this years Animal Kingdom...if he can close faster than Wicked Strong

Although California Chrome is the logical choice to be the favorite, this race with the field being so huge has been a killer for horses trying to win on the front end. Sorry to say but Wildcat red although a great battler, the 1 mile and 1/4 will eat him up and California Chrome has not faced the competition. Watch out for Medal Count, Wicked Strong, and Commanding Curve(litely raced-third off the layoff) Dance with Fate and Candy Boy.(lightly raced and the jockey to do it.)
