Kennedy relocating to Ohio

Kennedy, a half-brother to Grade 3 winner Thiskyhasnolimit, will stand the 2018 breeding season at Raimonde Farms in Wooster, Ohio, for an advertised fee of $1,000.

The 10-year-old son of A.P. Indy sold to Raimonde Farms for $2,000 on Wednesday at the Keeneland January sale of horses of all ages. He previously resided at River Oaks Farm in Sulphur, Okla., for $1,250.

“We’ve got a couple of proven horses out there [at Raimonde Farms], but his pedigree will outcross what we’re already standing and go with our band of mares, so that’s what we were looking for,” Brian Raimonde of Raimonde Farms said after signing the ticket.

Kennedy has sired four crops of racing age, with 15 winners and progeny earnings of $668,075, led by stakes winner Baby K and stakes-placed K Kiddo and K Kash.

Bred in Kentucky by Padua Stables, Kennedy is out of the unplaced Deputy Minister mare Lovely Regina, whose six foals to race are all winners, including Thiskyhasnolimit. Kennedy’s second dam is 2006 Broodmare of the Year Cara Rafaela, putting him in the family of champion Bernardini and Grade 1 winner Love and Pride.

Kennedy won one of seven starts for earnings of $30,589. He raced as a homebred for Padua Stables and was trained by Todd Pletcher and J. Michael Rogers.
