Kelly Phillips wins Gulfstream Park's Turf-Vivor II

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. - Kelly Phillips of Memphis, Tennissee won the $100,000 grand prize in Gulfstream Park's second annual Turf Vivor Handicapping contest.

Phillips, one of four women entered among the 107 contestants which started on Friday, defeated Lojuis Filoso of Ocean, New Jersey in the final round. Filoso took home the $10,000 second place check.

Dominic Gillotti and Jeff Sotman tied for third. All four finalists automatically qaualify for the2004 NTRA Handicapping Championship although as the organizer of the NTRA tournament Sotman is ineligible to participate. As a result Brant Allen will take his spot in the Handicapping Championship.

"It's been a lot of fun," said Phillips who defeated her own mother and father en route to the Turf-Vivor title. "I've been second or third in a few tournaments in Las Vegas but this is the first time I've ever won one."
