Keepondealing a winner

The winner of the Wishing Well Stakes at Turfway Park Saturday was odds-on, but not the filly most horseplayers expected.

Spanish Glitter, a winner in nine of 17 previous starts, clearly was the more well-regarded half of a stable entry trained by Bernie Flint. But when Spanish Glitter faded after incurring considerable pace pressure for most of the six-furlong Wishing Well, it was up to her stablemate, Keepondealing, to rescue the chalk players. She did.

Keepondealing, owned by Naveed Chowan and ridden by Rodney Prescott, rallied from sixth to win the $42,500 Wishing Well by 1 1/2 lengths over Soul Onarazorsedge. Platinum Streak finished third, another neck back, followed by Spanish Glitter and Cindy's Hobby. Four scratches reduced the field to eight fillies and mares.

Keepondealing now has won her last four starts, with the Wishing Well following two allowance wins at Hawthorne and the New Year's Eve Handicap at Mountaineer.

Keepondealing returned $3.40 after finishing in 1:11.93 over a muddy track.
